Charles Melnyk receives ERC starting grant

The Linnean Centre congratulates Charles Melnyk, active at the department of Plant Biology at SLU, for having received an ERC starting grant to develop his research program “Overcoming plant graft incompatibility by modifying signalling and perception”. Starting grants are awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) to particularly promising early-career researchers to help them establish their own research teams and conduct pioneering projects. Competition is tough and Charles was the sole plant scientist among a total of only ten Swedish grantees in the life science domain this year.
